TURBA FACTORY Berlin | DE – 2025

TURBA Factory is thrilled to announce the launch of our inaugural Plaster-Mould Making Artist-in-Residence Program, featuring the talented visual artist Shivani Luithle.

Shivani Luithle is an Australian-Indo-Fijian-German (currently identifying as a swimming thistle bush) artist based in Berlin. Her work explores the intersection of memory, dreams, and imagination, engaging with themes of time, place, and parallel identities, while also addressing the disillusionment wrought by the collapse of our climate and ecosystems.

Graduating with a Bachelor’s Degree in Art and Technology in 2016, Shivani’s work challenges the ways in which we perceive bodies, technology, and nature. Her anxiety-driven mechanical wearables were showcased at Ars Electronica: AI in 2017. In recent years, she has exhibited extensively in Berlin, including at 48 Stunden Neukölln and KSTN, and is an active member of the artist-run collective Ilali Studio.

The residency will take place from February 17th to March 17th, with an exhibition of Shivani’s work scheduled for April at TURBA Factory. During this period, she will host plaster-mould making workshops, facilitated by TURBA’s own technician, Alan Horsley.
