About Metallisches Fest
This year, as we mark 100 years since the prophetic visions of Metropolis heralded the Techno Scene, we invite you—the diverse cultural working forces of Tempelhof’s historical landscape of industrial charm—to synchronize your creativity and freedom with a futuristic-industrial flair venue.
The Origins
The “Metallisches Fest” finds its roots in the legendary parties held at the Bauhaus School during the 1920s and 1930s. These gatherings were more than mere revelry; they were a celebration of freedom, an in-between state where creativity and experimentation danced hand in hand. Students and lecturers, fueled by their DIY-lust for innovation, crafted costumes interior design from aluminum, small cogwheels, and silvery fabrics. With every movement, these unusual ensembles produced tinkling and shimmering sounds, transforming the party into a truly sensory experience. The Bauhaus parties were more than escapism; they carried a political undertone—a rebellion against convention and a celebration of individuality.
Metal in our Digital Age
Liquid metal, with its temporality, fluidity, and movement, is the state of matter best suited to reflect the Bauhaus foundation for the Techno Scene. It is also the futuristic-industrial material and state we choose to guide us through the evening. It refuses to be pressed into a fixed mold but adheres to experimentation—and to our party. Metallisches Fest is both a celebration and an experiment: an algorithmic dance of collective dreams. Let’s make memories that will echo through time. We, more-than-human: artists, machines, and living organisms, dance together to the rhythm of innovation. We optimize your algorithms, seeking patterns and connections, and transcends the “Metallisches Fest” into the digital data age. Prepare to run your processors until the circuits collapse, leaving behind a trail of binary stardust.
