Alan Horsley graduated with an MFA in Glass from Edinburgh College of Art in 2012 and has been working as in the field of mould-making and casting for over ten years. From 2016 to 2022 Alan built up and ran a glass casting facility for a company in Murano, Italy, where he was able to extend his practical skills delivering diverse projects for contemporary artists and design clients. Alan relocated to Berlin in 2022 to pursue research and development work in his field and joined TURBA Factory soon afterwards. He now offers workshops at the TURBA Factory where he shares the knowledge and experience gained through his industry experience. In particular, he focuses on teaching techniques and skills in the field of mould making as it relates to the technically demanding field of glass casting. His workshops are suitable for both beginners and advanced practitioners and offer an excellent opportunity to explore the subject of glass casting specifically and expand one’s own understanding of the moulding process in general.
